True Love!
4th Sunday of Advent

I John 4:1-11

Christmas season can bring lonely days. With visions of perfect families displayed on social media, it’s easy to compare our loneliness to other’s photo-perfect, air-brushed happiness. Little do we imagine the pain and sorrow that all members of the human race experience, even right after those photos are taken.

So, is there a trustworthy source of love? In First John, we learn that God is the source and originator of all True Love. As we wonder if anyone loves us, the love of Christ is always reaching out to us. This is the love that knows suffering and sacrifice all for the purpose to seek and save the lost. Like me. Like you.

Jesus was born among men to become God “with us.” He was born in human flesh, and then suffered and died that we might truly “live through Him.”

And this is the Love born to us at Christmas,
