Q: Have you ever sensed that you had encountered an angel? Or that an angel was sent to you by God to minister to you?

READ: Luke 1:26-38

Q: Tell the group all you know about “betrothal” as opposed to modern engagement. What kind of social pressure might Mary have encountered as she was found to be pregnant during the betrothal stage?

Q: Why is it significant that Joseph was from the “house of David?” How does this affect our view of Jesus’ birth?

Q: What can we learn from this passage about Mary? Although she was not sinless or perfect, God had his reasons for choosing her. Why might God have chosen Mary?
