FIRST READ: Hebrews 11:6; Luke 18:9-14



Q: How does the author of Hebrews define faith? (Heb. 11:1) How were those filled with faith from “of old” rewarded? (Hebrews 11:2)



Q: In Heb. 11:4, 5, what are the author’s examples of a life of faith?



Q: Why is it impossible to please God without faith? (Heb. 11:6)



Q: Why is the truth in verse 3 foundational to true faith? (Heb. 11:3)



Q: What do we need to believe in order to “draw near to God?” (11:6)



Q: READ: Luke 18:9-14. What was the difference in the two men’s prayers? What was wrong with the Pharisees’ prayer? What was the attitude of the penitent sinner that made him “justified before God?”
